No, this is not the typical "89 sites for..." because you don't need more than 2-3 solid options.

I’ve been blogging and working in the content industry for more than a decade. In my work as a web content creator, I’m always searching for high-quality images that don’t look cheesy like most images found on photo banks (which are usually overpriced).

Having high-quality images on your content assets will help it stand out, but they must also be in character and fit perfectly with your site’s aesthetic. So if you’re looking for unique-looking images – you would probably want to bookmark this page.

Best Free Stock Photo Sites – My Top 3 Favorite Websites For Free Images:

Here are my best free stock photo sites – a small list of the top three websites for finding amazing images.

 1. Kaboompics

Best for: Elegant feminine images

Kaboompics is a hidden gem in the world of free stock photos. It’s my go-to when I need something chic, modern, and on-trend. The color palette search feature is a lifesaver, allowing you to find images that match your blog’s branding perfectly. And if you’re all about aesthetics, you’ll love the carefully curated collections that make it easy to find exactly what you’re looking for.

Pro tip: you would probably want to optimize the images you download from Kaboompics as they are quite heavy and might slow down your site.

2. Pexels

Best for: Lifestyle of any sort

Pexels is like the best friend who always has your back. Need a vibrant lifestyle shot or a dreamy landscape? Pexels has it all. The images here are diverse, high-quality, and completely free for commercial use. Plus, the community of photographers on Pexels is super talented, so you’re always getting fresh content to keep your blog looking its best.

3. Unsplash

Best for: Lifestyle of any sort, including premium paid images

Up until recently, Unsplash was my go-to website for free images. However, they’ve started promoting their premium plan, which is great for those looking for even more options (and for the artists), but it does make it a bit trickier to find the best free visuals. Despite this, Unsplash still offers a vast selection of free stunning images, so I couldn’t leave it off this list. And as a premium option, Unsplash offers a competitive price with a much better value (images that don’t look like generic stock photos of people wearing generic clothes with fake smiles).
